This weekend has passed by too quickly for my liking. What is it with the way that the working week lasts a lifetime, yet those two days that we have all to ourselves flash before our eyes?
It has been quite a lazy weekend - Friday night was spent watching films, I finally got my boyfriend Dan to agree to watch the notebook, Me quietly sobbing away while he just stared at the screen indifferently. That film gets me every time. On Saturday we called into town so that I could get my nan a birthday present for tomorrow and apart from eating, that was pretty much it for our day.
As we didn't want the weekend to go to waste and Evan was off swimming for the day with my grandparents, we donned our boots and wellies and set off for a long walk down the river. I'm very lucky the my house backs on to this beautiful river and if you follow it right the way down along the path you reach a boating lake. And so that is what we did. We strolled along slowly with Milly beside us, chatting away and laughing at how Milly would stop to play with every dog that she passed. It was an absolutely freezing day and I can't begin to say how thankful I was that the little cafe was open on the edge of the lake, the steaming hot latte kept my hands toasty as we quietly made our way around the lake before setting off to the warmth of home.
